Went to Jonah's place in Ellensburg ^^ for all the Dakar fans. It was so random!

I'm in Canada!
so far it sucks... everything is different, is expensive, my gps doesnt work, I dont have maps, there is no free camping, and it freaking BIG!
Anyways, It's been a while since I got access to internet, I have been doing a lot of off-road traveling lately = no big town = no wifi.

Day 5 - Wilsonville, OR to Packwood, WA

Day 6 - Packwood to Pateros near lake Chelan - got a flat there..

Day 7 - Pateros to Penticton, Canada.

Did the Section 2 and 5 of the WABDR :http://www.wabdr.com/Map

Figured out the gps issue - I need a PC to process the tracks so it'll have to wait a little longer...

Back on the road tomorrow! I will post the tracks as soon as I figure out a way of making my gps work on my mac...

After 4 days of intensive work on the bike, I feel it is finally time to hit the road.

See new stuff? Basically, everything that is Flashy Fluo Green has be made or modified.
And some is hidden behind the fairing ^^

No worries I will post on each individual mods I did on future posts, and How I did it so You too can do it yourself.

Right now I want to get out of town, I am tired of cars, traffic, and multiple lanes road in general. Although when I was looking at the maps and planning the route, I can honestly say that the idea of traveling alone in the middle of nowhere, scares the crap outta me.

Finally, Thanks Aleks and Wilder ( the Motoshop in South SF ) for making this adventure possible ... for my ride. ^^

Let the adventure begin!

8 hours later, 4 o'clock, at my uncle's place in Los Gatos.
happy to be inside and warm. Boy it was windy outside.
the bike rode surprisingly well despite all the weight I had in the back - see pics previous post. Although far from doing a 50 mpg, this KLR definitely winning my heart. ^^
Tomorrow will go back to the Motoshop in South San Francisco to work on the weight issue - try to figure out a way to cut down the ammo can for my laptop - and finish up the bike for the real adventure coming up!

Huge thanks to Wes Hawkins and the team for helping me in this adventure!

Here's a few pictures after I installed them on the bike. Quick and easy.

Yep, Lime Green! And that will be the color of all the future mods to come. I mean, I have to honor the brand ...

Gotta love the label ^^

Struggling.

It has been hard these past couple days. I'm trying to get those "mods" on my bike to make it the perfect adventure ride. But with no money, no tools, no place... it's hard.

I have been doing some welding at the Theater shop in Santa Barbara City College - no exactly your first choice to mess around with automotives. But through 1 to 2 hour sessions - in between shows - crazy wrenching, and showers of sweat, I have a couple unfinished mods on the way : frames for panniers, crash bars, a half done skidplate - made out of a paper towel dispenser - and I have just finished in hurry, in the condo's parking lot, Weatwacker's mod - the rally fairing mod.

Pictures and DIYs coming soon.

Hard times. Ideas are spinning in my mind. I don't like the rush, the stress, I like space, peace and order. After a few searches on internet, which not all make me proud, I found what I'm looking for ! Check it out:

Although a bit far for me - remember I'm in California. So:

Any experiences with them? Comments? Suggestions?
Thanks!

Next post, I hope to show you my dream bike. ^^

This trip has now become so important in my life that it is affecting my grades. I remedied to the problem.
